People Demand Better Primary Care: Recent Research and Insights from the People’s Perspective

The landscape of primary care in the United States is rapidly changing. With support from the Commonwealth Fund, United States of Care (USofCare) conducted a national survey and focus groups to better understand people’s current perceptions, priorities, and challenges with primary care. People want affordable, accessible, and convenient primary care, and our research demonstrates that our health care system is not realizing that vision. With these findings, interested stakeholders can further advance policy discussions through data conveying patient perspectives and the need for strengthening the nation’s primary health care infrastructure.
