United States of Care Shares Comments at Maine’s Office of Affordable Health Care’s Annual Public Meeting
Focusing on Hospital Prices to Improve Health Care Affordability
On September 23, United States of Care (USofCare) submitted comments to Maine’s Office of Affordable Health Care during its Annual Public Meeting. Our comments raised findings from our listening work about how Mainers are struggling with the rising costs of health care and the tradeoffs families are making between rising costs and everyday essentials. We also highlighted the role of hospital costs in total health care spending, how that contributes to increasing premiums, and policy solutions to address these costs.
We thank the Office of Affordable Health Care for its commitment to supporting access to high-quality affordable health care for Mainers, and the opportunity to share on this important issue.
