United States of Care Provides Recommendations to Invest in and Expand Oregon Bridge Plan Coverage

Published On December 13, 2022

In March 2022, the Oregon legislature passed HB 4035, which authorizes the development of a “Bridge Plan” to support continuity of coverage for people most at risk of losing coverage at the end of the COVID Public Health Emergency. Since April, the Bridge Plan Task Force (BPTF) has worked tirelessly with state agencies and stakeholders to put together a Bridge Plan that provides affordable coverage to lower-income Oregonians. In its final public comments to the BPTF, USofCare thanked the Task Force for its hard work and held up the Bridge Plan as a model for other states to consider when expanding access to high-quality, affordable health care.

As the BPTF releases its final Bridge Plan recommendations, we remain committed to working with our partners on the ground in Oregon to facilitate a successful Bridge Plan implementation, while also advocating for future coverage expansion options to help even more Oregonians afford health care in the future.
