United States of Care Provides Testimony in Support of Connecticut Legislation to Create a New State-Based Health Insurance Coverage Option
On March 17th, United States of Care submitted public testimony in support of SB 3 during a Joint Committee on Human Services hearing. The bill would take steps to protect Connecticut residents from the impacts of federal cuts to health care premium subsidies by taking steps to build towards the creation of a Basic Health Plan and public health insurance option. These efforts would improve the affordability of care and coverage, increase access, help those who “churn” between different coverage sources throughout the year, and reduce health disparities.
We applaud the bill’s sponsors for introducing this legislation and look forward to continuing to work with our state partners to ensure that all Connecicut residents have access to accessible, affordable health care coverage.
