United States of Care Responds to 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Proposed Rule

Published On September 10, 2024

On September 9, 2024, United States of Care (USofC) submitted its response to the proposed rule from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) entitled “CY 2025 Payment Policies under the Physician Fee Schedule and Other Changes to Part B Payment and Coverage Policies; Medicare Shared Savings Program Requirements; Medicare Prescription Drug Inflation Rebate Program; and Medicare Overpayments,” also known as the 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) proposed rule.

USofCare’s comments applaud provisions found in the proposed rule that facilitate greater access to patient-first care by strongly investing in primary care for patients through expanded advanced primary care management services. We encourage CMS to continue to identify ways in which it can comprehensively pay primary care providers for the care they deliver, such as through hybrid payment arrangements. In addition, the proposed rule, if finalized, centers equity by expanding access caregiving services and dental care that disproportionately benefits communities of color and rural populations. We encourage CMS to adopt these and other policies supported by USofCare in the finalized rule to further expand access to affordable, comprehensive health care for all Medicare beneficiaries.

USofCare looks forward to continued engagement with CMS and other federal agencies and appreciates the opportunity to submit comments in response to the proposed rule.
