United States of Care Responds to the 2025 Notice of Benefit & Payment Parameters Proposed Rule
On January 8, United States of Care (USofCare) submitted comments in response to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) proposed Notice of Benefit and Payment Parameters (NBPP) for 2025, which outlines the rules and regulations for health care plans offered on the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) Marketplace. The ACA, passed in 2010, expanded access to affordable, high-quality health care for millions of Americans and is updated annually through the NBPP to make the health care coverage more accessible for people and families.
The 2025 NBPP builds upon the strong consumer and health equity protections established in last year’s final rule and we applaud CMS’s continued commitment to addressing the systemic health disparities that people face in our health care system. If finalized, the proposed rule would incorporate recommendations submitted by USofCare in last year’s Request for Information on Essential Health Benefits and would standardize coverage requirements across states to streamline the enrollment process for millions of people, especially those not deemed eligible for Medicaid as part of the redetermination process.
USofCare is appreciative of the opportunity to comment on the proposed rule and we look forward to working with CMS to further consider ways to expand access to affordable, comprehensive health insurance for all Americans.
