Minneapolis, MN – United States of Care (US of Care), a national non-profit which aims for every American to have quality, affordable health care, is pleased to announce the hiring of three new staff members based in Washington, D.C.

Leigh Warren is US of Care’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Warren was the COO for EMILY’s List for eight years before joining the State Innovation Exchange, an organization that works with state legislators to advance progressive policies.

With Leigh joining the team, US of Care gains a savvy chief operating officer with a proven background in driving operational and financial excellence for growing organizations,” said Emily Barson, US of Care’s Executive Director. “Leigh’s leadership and expertise will be tremendously valuable as our operations continue to grow.”

Patricia Nava will serve as the State and Public Affairs Coordinator. Nava was most recently at the Children’s Health System of Texas contributing to government relations. She also spent time in the Obama Administration coordinating outreach activities for ACA enrollment, and has experience on many political campaigns.

Rebecca Kunau is the new Special Assistant for the team. Before joining United States of Care, Kunau researched health care and pension policy in the US Senate, and supported advocacy efforts for local elected officials from Minnesota.

Patricia and Rebecca have demonstrated the ability to successfully further initiatives that integrate a broad range of operations, policy, and communications strategies, and we look forward to the experience and energy they will both bring to our organization,” said Barson.
