United States of Care Submits Comments in Response to CMS’s Advance Notice for the 2024 Medicare Advantage Capitation Rates Part C and Part D Payment Policies
Today, United States of Care submitted comments on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Advance Notice of Methodological Changes for 2024 for Medicare Advantage Capitation Rates and Part C and Part D Payment Policies. With Medicare Advantage and Part D, beneficiaries are offered important choices when evaluating their health care options.
Our comments address the ongoing implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the following themes:
- Reducing Out-of-Pocket Costs: We support the IRA’s provisions to eliminate cost-sharing requirements for prescription drugs and certain vaccines for people with catastrophic coverage in Medicare. Under this change, more people with Medicare Part D coverage will receive essential care.
- Lowering Prescription Drug Costs: We stand with the IRA’s plan to charge no more than $35 for a month’s supply of insulin and to exempt this cost from any deductible, improving access to insulin.
- Improving Health Equity: We support the equitable implementation of the IRA and encourage CMS to address longstanding health inequities by prioritizing outreach to diverse communities.
USofCare is grateful for the opportunity to comment on CMS’s Advance Notice.
