United States of Care Announces Hire Of Kevin Perez-Allen as Organization’s Inaugural Chief Communications Officer

Published On July 27, 2022

Washington, D.C. — Today, United States of Care announced the hiring of Kevin Perez-Allen as Chief Communications Officer, the first in the organization’s nearly five-year history. He will head the organization’s communications strategy and continue to expand USofCare’s leadership across health care.

A 17-year veteran of the political and advocacy nonprofit spaces, Perez-Allen has developed and led integrated communications campaigns for national organizations, political candidates, and state and local ballot measure campaigns. His background includes stints at the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) Educational Fund, California State Assembly, and National Security Leaders for Biden, where he directed Hispanic media outreach efforts during the 2020 Presidential Election cycle.

“We’re thrilled to have Kevin Perez-Allen as our first Chief Communications Officer. His expertise, passion, and commitment to prioritizing equity are a perfect fit with our mission and values,” said Natalie Davis, CEO and co-founder of United States of Care.

“We are so excited to have Kevin continue to grow our public profile and substantively expand our communications and advocacy to help meet the most urgent health care needs for people throughout the country,” added Davis.

Perez-Allen said, “We have an opportunity in this country to expand on the gains of the past decade and to ensure equal access to affordable, dependable, personalized, and understandable health care for everyone. The COVID-19 pandemic laid bare the inequities and unsustainability of our current system — and there could not be a more important time to work to ensure people’s health care is there when they need it.”

“As a member of the Latino community, I experienced inequities first-hand during my upbringing and then witnessed the disproportionate impact on people of color throughout the pandemic. We have an opportunity to ensure a robust, efficient health system that works for everyone. USofCare is doing that work, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it,” added Perez-Allen.

Most recently, Perez-Allen served as Vice President of Issue Advocacy at national public relations firm BerlinRosen, where he managed strategic communications efforts for a client roster that included the Center for American Progress (CAP), Fighting For Our Vote coalition, Pennsylvania Senate Democratic Campaign Committee, and Yale University School of the Environment.

Kevin Perez-Allen is based in Washington, D.C. where he lives with his wife and daughter.
