Debate Finally Highlights Health Care Access and Affordability, But More Work Remains

Published On September 10, 2024

WASHINGTON—In response to tonight’s presidential debate, CEO and Co-Founder Natalie Davis issues the following statement on behalf of United States of Care:

“Tonight’s debate finally brought much-needed attention to the critical issues of health care accessibility and affordability, topics that have been largely absent from this election cycle. While we’re encouraged by the inclusion of health care in the conversation, much more remains to be discussed about how we ensure everyone has access to affordable care that meets their needs.

Polling shows that health care access and affordability are top concerns for voters, and these issues have been mostly ignored during this historic election cycle. We’re encouraged that this critical issue is finally being discussed, but we need the campaigns to make health care a more central focus in this election cycle. Pew Research polling and USofCare’s listening work consistently reflect the public’s demand for more affordable and accessible care.”
