USofCare Statement on the Confirmation of RFK Jr. as HHS Secretary
Washington, DC — In response to the confirmation of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to serve as Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), United States of Care CEO and Co-Founder Natalie Davis released the following statement:
“Now that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been confirmed as the next Secretary of Health and Human Services, we’re ready to work with him to build durable federal policy that centers everyday people and meets their health care needs.
“Secretary Kennedy has often talked about making America healthy again. As we’ve learned in our conversations with over 25,000 people in all fifty states, making people healthy means making health care more affordable, dependable, personalized, and understandable. We’ve also learned that making people healthy means a health care system that treats them as a whole-person – not just a collection of symptoms.
“We’re ready to work with HHS to advance policies focused on establishing transparency with health care prices, strengthening access to primary care, and establishing a patient-first (or value-based) health care system like Secretary Kennedy alluded to in his confirmation hearing. As we’ve always done, United States of Care will oppose efforts to undermine people’s access to high quality, affordable health care made possible by critical programs like Medicaid, CHIP, and the Affordable Care Act. We will also oppose changes that will make health care more expensive for everyday people, or otherwise undermine the federal government’s role in ensuring people remain covered and healthy.
“We can all agree that it’s time to build a better health care system. We look forward to working with Secretary Kennedy on targeted policy solutions based on what we know people want from their health care, and we urge him to commit to protecting key programs that millions of people rely on.”
