USofCare Applauds Strengthening of Transparency in Finalized Transparency in Coverage (TiC) Rule
Washington, DC — Last week, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released its finalized 2026 Transparency in Coverage (TiC) rule, which updates the existing health care price transparency requirements to improve the accuracy, standardization, and usability of TiC data. In response, United States of Care released the following statement:
“People tell us constantly that our health care system doesn’t make sense to them, and that they have no clue what they’re paying for when they seek health care,” said United States of Care Senior Director of Federal Policy & Advocacy Lisa Hunter. “This final rule is a step in the right direction. While TiC data is not directly used by consumers, it can help employers negotiate better prices to save people money on their insurance. By including changes United States of Care advocated for that will make pricing data clearer, this rule will make it easier to show how policy changes like facility fee restrictions or site-neutral payments would make people’s health care more affordable and transparent. We thank CMS for delivering this transparency win for people in this final rule.”
