United States of Care Responds to Physician Payment Reform RFI
On January 16, United States of Care (USofCare) submitted comments in response to a request for information from the Republican and Democratic Doctors Caucuses related to modernizing Medicare physician payment under the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) and the CMS Innovation Center.
USofCare’s comments focus on how the Medicare physician payment system should be reformed to drive the shift away from a fee-for-service chassis towards one that prioritizes quality and outcomes to ensure that all Medicare beneficiaries reap the benefits of a “patient first care” approach. Additionally, USofCare stresses the importance of incorporating people’s values and lived experiences into the models tested by the CMS Innovation.
We appreciate the opportunity to respond to this request for information.
