United States of Care Responds to CMS Request for Information on Essential Health Benefits

Published On July 15, 2026

On July 15, 2026, United States of Care submitted comments in response to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ request for information about how the federal government can review and improve the essential health benefits (EHB) framework under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Our comments emphasize the importance of EHBs in ensuring people have access to comprehensive, affordable care and provide CMS with suggestions on how EHBs can be strengthened to preserve state flexibilities while also best responding to the health care needs of people nationwide.

We appreciate the opportunity to weigh in in support of the ACA’s EHB framework. We look forward to working with CMS to ensure that the recommendations we propose in these comments are reflected in any future EHB rulemaking.
