United States of Care Responds to Senate Finance Committee’s White Paper on Chronic Care & Physician Payment
On June 14, 2024, United States of Care (USofCare) submitted comments in response to the white paper released by the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance entitled “Bolstering Chronic Care through Physician Payment: Current Challenges and Policy Options in Medicare Part B.”
Our listening work has shown that people desire “patient-first care” that allows for them to spend more time with providers and for their providers to communicate with each other to provide them with more personalized, holistic care. USofCare applauds the Committee’s continued efforts to make Medicare work better for beneficiaries. We encourage further action to move away from a physician payment system largely based on volume of care delivered and towards a system that pays physicians for delivering outcomes will better address patient needs while also lowering costs for beneficiaries and building a more sustainable health care system overall.
We appreciate the opportunity to provide feedback as the Committee considers changes to physician payment.
