New Resource: Changes to the AHEAD Model, Explained

Published On October 31, 2025

USofCare’s in-depth research and listening work has shown that people desire targeted improvements to shift the health care system toward a system grounded in patient-first care that prioritizes quality over quantity of care. One of the more promising models that plans to deliver on that promise is the Achieving Healthcare Efficiency through Accountable Design (AHEAD) Model, which focuses on curbing health care spending, promoting population health, and improving care coordination.

USofCare’s new resource outlines these changes, what they mean for patients, and how state advocates can leverage them to ensure successful implementation of the AHEAD Model.
