Today, United States of Care issued the following statement in response to the Nevada Senate passage of SB 420, a bill to create a public health insurance option in Nevada that will expand access to equitable, quality, affordable health care.

“United States of Care congratulates the Nevada state senate for passing a public health insurance option (SB 420) aimed at significantly reducing the cost of health coverage and the number of Nevada residents forced to go without health insurance because they can’t afford it,” said Liz Hagan, Director of Policy Solutions at United States of Care. “Nevada’s efforts to enact a public health insurance option is favored by two thirds of Nevadans, including 83% of Democrats, 73% of independents, and 43% of Republicans. We look forward to the bill’s continued momentum in the House and ultimate passage and enactment so that everyday Nevadans can finally receive improved access to quality, affordable health care.”
