USofCare Applauds House Passage of Colorado HB21-1232

Published On May 10, 2021

May 10, 2021 — Today, United States of Care applauds House passage of HB21-1232, a bill to create the Colorado Option and expand access to quality, affordable health care.

Coloradans are strongly united in recognizing the need to make changes to the current health care system in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Eighty percent of voters feel this way, with wide majorities of Democrats, Republicans, and unaffiliated voters agreeing. Just 11% want to keep the system the way it is.

“The Colorado Option is part of a wave of state legislation moving across the country to drive down costs and expand access to dependable, affordable and equitable health care,” said Emily Barson, Executive Director, United States of Care. “This is an important policy that could bring real relief to people, and we look forward to seeing continued momentum in the Colorado Senate.”
