USofCare Provides Testimony to Washington House Health Care and Wellness Committee in Support of Legislation to Restrict Hospital Facility Fees
On Wednesday, United States of Care’s State Advocacy Manager, Kelsey Wulfkuhle delivered testimony before the Washington House Health Care and Wellness Committee in support of HB 2378, which builds upon the important work the Washington legislature has already begun to help protect patients from unexpected hospital facility fees.
Facility fees, or additional charges tacked onto a patient’s bill along with the cost of their services because they received care at a health center not owned by their doctor, can often come as a surprise to people – and can often exceed the cost of the care provided.
We applaud the bill’s sponsors for introducing this legislation and look forward to continuing to support legislation that helps to ensure Washingtonians have access to the medical care they need without worrying about its cost.
