Washington, D.C. – Today, United States of Care (USofCare) welcomed two additions to their staff – Natalie Davis, who will serve as the Senior Director of Public Engagement, and Byron Johnson, who is the organization’s new Senior Director of Communications.

Davis brings more than a decade of experience developing and implementing health care policies to improve the lives of everyday Americans. Throughout her career she has worked tirelessly to promote the needs of those who use our health care system to drive reforms of the system. Before co-founding USofCare, Davis served at the Bipartisan Policy Center and the Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS), providing her with an understanding of how policies and actions in Washington impact real people.

Johnson has operated at the intersection of communications and issues advocacy for nearly two decades, focusing primarily on health care issues. His previous work with Fortune 100 corporations, nonprofits, government agencies, and trade associations at a local, regional, and national levels provides him with an opportunity to bring a comprehensive and innovative approach to USofCare’s communications operations.

“We are very excited to have these two talented and committed individuals join the USofCare team. Their experience, knowledge, and passion for our mission makes for much needed leadership on our team in key departments,” said Emily Barson, Executive Director. “Since co-founding USofCare, Natalie has provided us with sound counsel as we worked to build capacity and credibility. I’ve valued her contributions as a senior advisor, and I’m excited that she will bring her unique perspective to the organization full-time. And Byron brings a level of innovation and professionalism that will guide USofCare’s communications program as we continue to expand our work to advance our ambitious mission.

Davis will lead USofCare’s public engagement activities, including the introduction and implementation of soon-to-be-launched Voices of Real Life council, to expand the voices and perspectives informing our work, maintaining our focus on the everyday Americans impacted by the health care system. Johnson will oversee all internal and external communications for the organization, and provide support for USofCare’s public engagement, development, state outreach and public policy initiatives.
