United States of Care Submits Comment Letter to CMS in Support of 2024 Physician Fee Schedule Rule
On September 11, United States of Care (USofCare) submitted a comment letter in response to a proposed rule by the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Pulling insights from our listening work across the country, we commend CMS for the provisions in this rule that will positively impact people’s access to health care and advance health equity.
This proposed rule, entitled “Medicare and Medicaid Programs: CY 2024 Payment Policies under the Physician Fee Schedule and Other Changes to Part B Payment and Coverage Policies; Medicare Shared Savings Program Requirements; Continued Implementation of Requirements for Manufacturers of Certain Single-dose Container or Single-use Package Drugs to Provide Refunds with Respect to Discarded Amounts; Medicare Advantage; Medicare and Medicaid Provider and Supplier Enrollment Policies; and Basic Health Program,” expands access to care and helps advance health equity through a range of provisions that we support.
In particular, USofCare commends CMS for this rule’s investments in primary care, provisions in support of better telehealth access and dental care, integration of behavioral health and primary care, caregiving supports, support for services addressing health-related social needs, and provisions allowing states with Basic Health Plans (BHPs) additional flexibility in ensuring their residents have affordable, dependable quality health care coverage.
USofCare is grateful for the opportunity to comment on this proposed rule, and encourages its swift adoption.
