Lezah Calvin

Senior Manager of Federal Affairs

Lezah is the Senior Manager of Federal Affairs at United States of Care where she will be leading United States of Care’s federal legislative advocacy and engaging with federal policymakers and stakeholders to expand access to affordable health care through people-centered policy.

Lezah previously worked on the Legislative Affairs team at Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) where she led a range of federal policy issues including maternal health, health equity, immigration and the health care workforce. In addition, she organized engagements with federal elected officials at PPFA events. Prior to working at PPFA, Lezah worked for former U.S. Representative Sandy Levin (MI) and was the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Legislative Correspondent for U.S. Senator Gary Peters (MI). Lezah was also an intern for former U.S. Representative Elijah Cummings (MD).

Lezah’s passion for health care policy comes from having a mother who has been a registered nurse in Baltimore for over 30 years and completing a high school academy of health science technology externship at the University of Maryland Medical Center where she witnessed, first-hand, how people navigated the U.S. health care system.

Lezah holds dual Bachelors of Arts in Government & Politics and Criminology & Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Lezah resides in Baltimore, Maryland with her rescue Chihuahua-Dachshund mix, Charlie where she enjoys finding new places in the area to explore with her dog.
