Notice of Benefits and Payment Parameters Final Rule for Plan Year 2026 Reflects USofCare Priorities
On January 13, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) finalized its Notice of Benefit and Payment Parameters (NBPP) for 2026 which outlines the rules and regulations for health care plans offered on the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) marketplace. The ACA, which has provided more than 50 million people high-quality health care since 2010, is updated annually through the NBPP process to make coverage even more accessible and affordable for people.
The final 2026 NBPP incorporates priorities raised in United States of Care’s (USofC) comments submitted last year, including measures to promote health equity within underserved communities and changes to improve coverage options for all people. We appreciate CMS’s commitment to transparency and improving the consumer experience so that people are able to more fully understand their plan benefits, cost-sharing obligations, and who to turn to with questions about their coverage.
We appreciate the opportunity to comment on the proposed rule and look forward to working with CMS in the future to further promote people’s access to comprehensive, affordable coverage both on and off the exchanges.
