Equity Statement
United States of Care is committed to creating an equitable, inclusive, and accessible health care system for all, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, religion, socioeconomic status, age, ability, location, sexual orientation, and additional intersecting identities.
We recognize that health care disparities stem from systematic, institutional, and historical barriers. Our mission is to dismantle these barriers and foster a just, equitable, and responsive health care system.
We ground our work in the principle of ‘listening loudly.’ While continuously looking for common areas for improvement, we center the insights and experiences of persons most impacted by systemic health care barriers, particularly people of color, individuals in rural areas, and those with low incomes.
As we address each issue, we aim to intentionally understand and respond to the needs of the most affected communities. This approach is central to our United Solutions of Care agenda for reform, which includes advocating for an affordable, dependable, personalized health care system that people can understand.
Our organization continuously seeks to address disparities through policies and practices, both internally and externally. We prioritize partnering with underrepresented communities, acknowledging their experiences, and centering their voices. We believe a system that meets the needs of historically underserved communities will work for everyone.
We respect the unique needs, experiences, and strengths of all individuals and communities in our work. We understand that the journey toward health equity is ongoing, and we are dedicated to learning, evolving, and making sustained efforts toward this goal.
We invite all who share our vision to join us as we collectively strive to build a health care system that acknowledges and addresses disparities and empowers every individual with the care they deserve, forging a path towards a healthier, more compassionate, and truly inclusive nation.
