Ryan Shepherd

Ryan Shepherd is the State Policy and Advocacy Coordinator at USofCare. Originally from New Jersey, she earned a B.A. in public policy with a concentration in health policy from the University of Chicago. Her honors thesis examined ways to improve the accessibility of maternal health care for women with physical disabilities in the Chicago area.

While in college, Ryan interned with the Federal Policy team at USofCare. In that role, she spearheaded a research project on maternal and child health care and collaborated with team members to develop federal policy recommendations, earning a contribution credit in the 2024 Culturally Responsive Care Report.

Prior to her current role, Ryan supported a fast-paced legal team, coordinating administrative workflows across multiple projects and reviewing municipal codes to ensure regulatory compliance within the hospitality industry.

Ryan lives in downtown Chicago. In her free time, she enjoys playing the piano, walking along the lakefront, and hosting dinner parties with friends.
