Nicolas Rasool

Nic Rasool is the Project Assistant with the State Policy & Advocacy team at USofCare. A Georgia native, Nic graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in Biological Engineering and a minor in Philosophy.

Prior to joining USofCare, Nic was a Programs Assistant with NAMI GA, supporting their work fighting for equitable mental health policies in the state of Georgia. He assisted with their Mental Health Day at the Capitol event, where he coordinated meetings between advocates and legislators in the Georgia General Assembly. During this time, he was also a Teaching Fellow with The Literacy Lab, helping to foster literacy skills among students in Atlanta Pre-Ks.

Before his time with nonprofits, Nic was a Research Assistant at the University of South Carolina, as a part of the NIH PREP Program, where he studied the relationship between age, sex, and sleep as well as learned about the psychological and neurological underpinnings of language. He was also a Research Assistant with the University of Georgia, studying physics education, semiotic resources, and the nature of problem-solving among students. 

In his free time, he loves writing short stories, playing video games, and caring for his handful of potted plants.
