Senior Director for Policy & External Affairs

Lisa brings to the USofCare more than fifteen years of experience working to expand access to affordable health care through roles in the federal government, nonprofits, electoral campaigns, and the private sector. Most recently, Lisa led strategic partnerships at Families USA, mobilizing advocates to push for reforms to Medicaid, Medicare, and the health insurance marketplace, with a focus on health equity. Previously, Lisa led advocacy and government affairs at the Better Medicare Alliance, where she worked with Congress, the administration and cross-sector allies on efforts to improve and stabilize the Medicare Advantage program. Lisa has worked on campaigns at the local and federal levels, including as a field organizer in 2008, and during her own run for public office in 2018. She also served as a political appointee at the Department of Health and Human Services during the Obama Administration, as a Congressional staffer to Rep. In her role as Senior Director for Policy & External Affairs at USofCare, Lisa leads a team of policy experts to advance the organization’s health advocacy strategy, focusing on engagement with state and federal policymakers, and collaboration with partners and stakeholders to advance pragmatic and durable policy solutions that reduce health inequities and promote improved health and health care.
