As Senior Director, Institutional Philanthropy, Emily oversees the stewardship and cultivation of US of Care’s institutional giving portfolio, bringing 25 years of development experience and extensive expertise in institutional giving and foundation relations to this work. She has an exceptional record for foundation portfolio growth at many of the organizations that she has been lucky enough to be a part of including the Center for Constitutional Rights, Demos, PEN America, and most recently, Alliance for Justice. Emily thrives on building deep partnerships with funders, which results in better organizational programs and increased revenue. She also loves her foundation work because it provides deep insight into the organization’s programmatic work and the opportunity to build supportive internal relationships with colleagues. In addition to specialized expertise in institutional philanthropy, Emily has served in more generalized communications and development leadership roles at organizations including the National Voting Rights Institute (now a part of Demos), Global Nomads Group, Literacy Partners, and Citizens Union. She brings this organizational development and leadership experience—from strategic planning to program development to communications campaigns—to her work. Emily lives in Brooklyn with her partner, and their one-eyed rescue dog, Miss Toast.
