Amanda Ptashkin is the Senior State Policy & Project Manager at USofCare, where she helps translate insights from community listening research into actionable health policy recommendations across six states. Her work focuses on understanding what people want and need from the health care system and advancing policies that reflect those priorities.
Before joining USofCare, Amanda served as Southern Health Partners Project Manager at Community Catalyst, where she spent twelve years building and supporting a network of health care advocates across thirteen Southern states. Her work centered on expanding access to affordable, high-quality health care, with a particular focus on Medicaid expansion. During her tenure, she supported successful expansion efforts in Virginia, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and North Carolina, while continuing to advocate for the remaining states with coverage gaps.
Previously, Amanda was the Outreach and Advocacy Director at Georgians for a Healthy Future, where she played a key role in the implementation of the Affordable Care Act in Georgia. She served as a health insurance navigator during the first open enrollment period, provided on-the-ground analysis for the BBC during the landmark Supreme Court case King v. Burwell, and helped establish the Cover Georgia coalition.
Amanda earned a Juris Doctor from Widener School of Law, along with a Health Policy Certificate, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics with a minor in Public Policy–Health from New York University. She currently resides in Atlanta, GA.
