Alexandra Allen serves as the Federal Policy Manager at United States of Care, where she focuses on federal policies to improve access to affordable health care for all with expertise in public insurance and health system consolidation.
She joins US of Care from the Altarum Institute’s Healthcare Value Hub in Washington, DC, where she served as a health policy analyst leading efforts to monitor state-level policy initiatives designed to increase consumer affordability and coverage as well as consumer affordability surveys used for legislative advocacy and more. She also developed and maintained relationships with state and national stakeholders while providing technical assistance to partner organizations across the country.
Prior to her time at Altarum, Alexandra worked as a public benefits and health insurance navigator for mixed-citizenship families at El Centro de la Raza in Seattle, Washington before completing her Masters in Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her goal is to ensure that all people have access to affordable health care regardless of income, employment, or citizenship, especially those traditionally marginalized by the health care system.
